Domestic driverless cars or mass production in 2025?

Driverless cars are not only technologically advanced by leaps and bounds. Today, government policies and corporate strategic cooperation are also simultaneously progressing.

In 2025, it has become a critical year for the field of self-driving cars. Nearly all companies in the world have announced that they will achieve the highest level of automatic driving during the year. Recently, China's driverless car maker also said that it will achieve volume production of driverless vehicles by 2025.

Driverless cars are not only technologically advanced by leaps and bounds. Today, government policies and corporate strategic cooperation are also simultaneously progressing.

According to GlobalTimes, the Chinese manufacturer of driverless cars said that the goal of producing high-speed unmanned vehicles will be achieved by 2025. By then, the dream of mass production of driverless cars will become a reality. This lofty ambition was incorporated into the long-term development plan for driverless vehicles by the Chinese government in order to transform China into an innovative automation country.

At this year's Asia Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Shanghai, technology companies have assembled to showcase their latest technologies including: Internet of Things, 3D printing, robots, and wearable devices. Smart cars have become hot spots among the hundreds of flowers.

Industry sources said that the automation industry is facing important changes. At the end of May, the German technology company Continental signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Baidu, aiming to establish a comprehensive strategic cooperation in autopilot, connected car and smart mobile service.

Continental senior executive Elmar Degenhart said that cooperation with Baidu will help his company focus on core technologies such as batteries, machinery, and electronic control.

On June 1st, Bosch, the German automation supply chain, announced plans to form a team with Baidu to work together on intelligent transportation cooperation. Dirk Hoheisel, Senior Director of Bosch, said that the two companies will make every effort to use their technology and experience to promote the popularization of intelligence.

On the same day, China Beiqi Group and Jiangtui Automobile also signed cooperation intentions with Daimler and Volkswagen. Volkswagen and Jiangtui announced that they will jointly set up capital to produce electric vehicles and said that the partnership will be carried out in conjunction with German Industry 4.0 and the “China Manufacturing Strategy 2025”.
